What does Skin Tightening mean?
Skin tightening directly targets the upper layer of skin, the epidermis, as well as the underlying “leather skin”, the dermis. The upper skin layers as well as the connective tissue are tightened with pulsed light using a special device. The light pulse heats the dermis but leaves the epidermis untouched. The treatment is carried out in the infrared range with 780-950 nm and with bipolar radio frequency current. The result of the treatment is an increase in collagen and elastin metabolism, resulting in the formation of new connective tissue. In addition, the concentration of hyaluron molecules increases, which also has a positive effect.
How does a treatment work?
Skin Tightening is mainly used to eliminate wrinkles in the facial area. Especially the otherwise so stubborn small wrinkles can be removed by the light impulses, while deep nasolabial folds or expression lines require a different treatment. Of course, Skin Tightening is painless throughout. Those who undergo the treatment only feel a pleasant warmth.
Who is Skin Tightening suitable for?
The intensity of skin tightening depends on a number of factors. Age, the density of the existing collagen fibres and the water content all play a role. Of course, an effect is always achieved, but the desired result can sometimes only be achieved after four to eight treatments. The focus is on the so-called “crow’s feet”, bags under the eyes and cheeks that have lost their elasticity.
Are there any known side effects?
There are hardly ever any side effects with Skin Tightening. Occasionally, slight reddening of the skin occurs up to half an hour after the end of the treatments. However, hives or injuries are not possible. Accordingly, Skin Tightening is ideally suited for short-term treatment, for example during a lunch break.
