Laser hair removal treatment procedure

1. Consultation & medical history

A detailed consultation takes place before the first treatment. During this consultation:

• Skin and hair type are determined
• The areas of the body to be treated are specified
• Discuss realistic treatment results
• Clarify possible contraindications (e.g. skin diseases, medication, pregnancy)
• The treatment plan and the recommended number of sessions will be determined individually.

2. Preparing for treatment

Before undergoing laser hair removal, the following points should be noted:

• The skin should be clean, dry and free of cosmetic products.
• The area will be shaved on site if necessary
• Sunbathing, solariums and self-tanning products should be avoided for several weeks before treatment
• If necessary, a test pulse will be performed to check the skin’s reaction.

3. Performing the laser treatment

The laser settings are adjusted individually to suit skin and hair colour

• Before the laser application, a cooling gel is applied to protect the skin and reduce heat build-up during treatment


• Protective goggles are worn to protect the eyes
• The laser emits targeted light pulses that are absorbed by the melanin in the hair.

• The energy is conducted to the hair root, where it inhibits hair growth.

• During the treatment, you may experience a slight feeling of warmth, pulling or tingling. Modern cooling systems provide additional comfort.

4. Duration of treatment

The duration of treatment depends on the size of the area:

• Small areas (e.g. upper lip): a few minutes
• Larger areas (e.g. legs, back): up to 60 minutes

5. After treatment

Immediately after permanent hair removal, the following temporary skin reactions may occur:

• Slight reddening of the skin
• A mild feeling of warmth or tightness
• small, localised swelling in the area of the hair follicles

These skin reactions are completely normal and a sign that the treatment is working. They usually subside on their own within a few hours, or after one to two days at the latest.

At the end of the treatment, a soothing and cooling care product is applied to relax the skin, reduce redness and support regeneration.

6. Aftercare & behavioural recommendations

After treatment, you should:

• avoid direct sunlight
• use a high sun protection factor (SPF 30–50) every day
• refrain from using saunas, exercising and taking hot baths for approx. 24–48 hours
• refrain from hair removal by plucking, waxing or epilating
